FAQ: Road Trailers

What is the difference between a Storage Trailer and Road Trailer?

A storage trailer is transported by Eagle Leasing to the customer’s site. Although a storage trailer can be moved from loading dock to loading dock and anywhere else onsite, a storage trailer cannot be used to transport goods over the road. Road trailers can be used as storage onsite as well to transport cargo to any location within the continental U.S.

Does Eagle Leasing have trailers legal to enter California?

Upon request, Eagle Leasing will provide 40-foot and 53-foot trailers that are equipped with a trailer skirt to comply with California regulations. Trailer-Skirt-640px-300x225 Road Trailers

Does Eagle Leasing take care of trailer maintenance?

Eagle Leasing takes care of all routine maintenance at one of our three Trailer Repair Facilities.

What is required to rent a Road Trailer?

An approved credit application and proper insurance is required. Fill out our online credit application to get started and an Eagle Leasing representative will contact you.

What are the differences between a spring ride and air ride trailer?

While both a spring ride trailer and an air ride trailer offer a cushion between the axle and the body of the trailer, there are some differences. Spring ride: The front and rear axles of the trailer are connected with leaf springs between the front and rear axle. Most fleets operate using spring ride trailers. Spring ride suspensions are constructed of multiple layers of flexible steel strips in one assembly or pack. They require less maintenance on the undercarriage of the trailer and provide a smooth ride. Air ride: An air ride trailer has an airbag suspension between the axle and the body of the trailer. Air ride trailers have a softer ride than a spring ride trailer. The disadvantages of an air ride trailer are that the airbags are much more likely to break, and they have a higher overall operational cost.

If we lease a trailer, who is responsible for flat tires ?

The customer is always responsible for maintaining tires and repairing tire damage.

What is an ICC Step for

An Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) step is used as a safeguard to prevent a vehicle from driving underneath a trailer. The ICC step can also be used as a step to climb inside a trailer.

What is the biggest trailer you can rent?

The largest option for renting a storage trailer is 53 feet long with either overhead roll-up or swing doors. You also can rent Office Trailers, with our biggest unit measuring 10 feet by 50 feet. Our selection of office trailers for sale ranges from 8 feet by 20 feet to 10 feet by 50 feet.

What is the advantage of overhead and swing door trailers?

The advantage of an overhead door trailer is that the trailer can be brought directly to dock while the doors are closed. Once the trailer is at the dock, the doors can be opened without moving the trailer. The disadvantage of an overhead door trailer is that since the door rolls up, the trailer will lose some overhead space when the door is closed. The advantage of a swing door trailer is you have more interior clearance, while the disadvantage of a swing door trailer is you are unable to open the trailer while the trailer is at a dock. overhead_swing-doors-640 Road Trailers

How high are trailers from the ground?

The floor of our storage trailers is generally 52 inches above the ground.

What is the difference between e-track and logistic posts?

While e-track and logistic posts are both used to secure cargo to road trailers and prevent the cargo from shifting during transit, there are some notable differences.   Etrack-640px-150x113 Road TrailersE-track is run horizontally across a trailer equidistant on both sides and can be used to secure the cargo in the exact horizontal location. Although Eagle Leasing does not charge for e-track, which is already installed, we can install one to three rows for a customer.   LogisticPosts-640-150x113 Road TrailersLogistic posts have logistics tracks built into the equidistant posts of a trailer. Since logistic posts are used as part of the construction of a road trailer, cargo is secured by the strength of the trailer. The disadvantage of logistic posts is that the customer is not able to secure the cargo to the exact horizontal location of a road trailer.

What is the difference between a 96-inch-wide trailer and a 102-inch-wide trailer?

Since a 96-inch-wide trailer is only capable of holding one pallet in its 96 inches of width, the trailer it is best for holding non-palletized cargo. A 102-inch trailer can hold two pallets side by side and is ideal for holding palletized cargo.

  • Wow... what can I say! These guys were professional and had great customer skills - something you rarely see these days. When I was shopping for a container, I looked at all the "other competitors", but could not find anyone that could match the price to service as Eagle Leasing. Happy I made the choice.

  • Our business has been using Eagle Leasing for a 40 foot container for over a decade. We had a container that started to have some issues with the roof drying up and leaking that can happen with time with anything. They went above and beyond to take care of us and switch out our container for a newer unit which houses at times valuable materials for our customers . The driver was amazing and a magician in tight circumstances and went above and beyond. 5 stars for eagle if you need storage needs .

  • Great customer service. Amazing drivers (they can deliver a trailer or container anywhere). Quality equipment. Wonderful corporate citizens. My most recent business with the Eagle Leasing family: The Boys & Girls Club of Milford needed an office trailer and a flatbed for their annual pumpkin festival - and the locations for both were a real challenge. It is really something to watch these drivers jockey the equipment into the most inhospitable locations. The response from customer service/dispatch (Pat) was timely, the delivery and pick-up were right on time, the drivers were amazing and customer-service focused; Eagle Leasing was well represented on site. The equipment was clean. Think about all those places you see Eagle Leasing equipment (and you do see them everywhere) - and then think about how the heck they got that trailer or container or flatbed or office trailer into place. Impressive.

  • Great deal. Both owners friendly and helpful, picked up the phone by themselves and immediately. No hassle going through answer machine and such. Quick delivery, very easy and straight transaction. Highly professional driver - not only skills-wise but polite, pleasant and careful when dropping the container. Helped to decide where to put it so lawn wouldn\'t be damaged. Container itself - it is so clean and neat - nothing like I had a chance to see before using other companies. Price-wise....well if you looking for temporary storage because of remodeling, moving and such, than this is the best way to go. Not only container offered by Eagle is 20' while others like Pack-rat, Pods and Cows do offer 16' max but it is also cheaper, much sturdy and could be put on unpaved road or grass. Bottom line, happy customer. Thanks guys.
