1. 1. A living, functioning ecosystem. In 2004, a storage container fell off a container ship during a storm. Scientists surveying the Monterey Bay re-discovered the container 1,300 meters below the surface of the water. The storage container was returned in 2011. But by then, the tires that were originally stored in the container were eclipsed by an underwater reef.
   2. A stolen VW Bus. You can expect to find a VW Bus by the beach toting a dozen surfboards. But to find one in a storage container could leave you feeling like you’re hanging more than 10. The container was on its way to the Netherlands to be restored when its contents were discovered by a customs agent in Arizona. The VW Bus was originally reported stolen in 1974 in Spokane, Washington. Talk about a wild ride.
   3. A tube of tear gas lipstick. You’ve probably heard of keychain pepper spray. But tear gas lipstick? Believe it. In December 2013, a shipping container of illegal tear gas lipstick tubes was found in Sydney, Australia. The storage container also housed other super spy-like weapons including replica pistols and stun gun iPhones. Now that’d be a shocking phone call. The items were supposedly destined for sale at Sydney’s public markets. A 49-year-old woman was arrested for being in connection with the illegal import of these odd items.
